Limestone Bay in Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge, AL

This area includes the boat landing just south of Mooresville, AL. (Thought you wouldn't need that useless map to Mooresville, didn't you?)  Well, look at the map below, and we'll even show you how to get out of Mooresville again: heading south to watch birds!

Directions: Map of Limestone Bay

From either Decatur or Huntsville, take exit 2 (Mooresville) and go south. Not far from there, you'll come to a 'T' in the road; turn right to head west on old Hwy 20. There's not much traffic here anymore. Cross over two bridges, and look for a small road among the trees on the left side. There is also a small directional sign labeled "Boat Launch" right around here somewhere. Turn onto this dirt road heading south, and you'll find that just about anyplace would be good for stopping. Drive on a few miles more, and you'll get to the boat launch area. The road ahead goes on further, and soon you'll see a pair of Gates. This is also a great place for a hike!
