Swan Creek in Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge, AL

This is around the Harris Road area in southern Limestone County; a very good birding spot!

Map & Directions:Map to the Swan Creek area

"S" stands for the Saginaw Steering Gear Plant, and "C" is Calhoun Community College in the map to the right. Turn left at the traffic light at Calhoun, then you'll see the Saginaw Steering Gear Plant to your right. After a couple hundred yards, turn right onto the road that goes behind the Saginaw plant. This road also takes you right by "The Stickups" off to the left; odd name, but a good birding spot. Once you see it the name makes pretty good sense. you can park there if you like. Continuing on, take a left at the T in the road (Harris Rd. now) and cross over a railroad. As the road veers to the right, keep going straight onto the dirt road. Pass by a Refuge building on your left, then take a left and you're there!
